Mother charged after 13-year-old son uses her gun to shoot two teens
PALM BAY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Palm Bay Police Department has reported that they arrested 33-year-old Brenda Maldonado on charges of Cupable Negligence and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm in connection with the double shooting that occurred on March 19th, 2018.
Detectives say Maldonado was the owner of the firearm and failed to take proper measures to secure the weapon, allowing her 13-year-old son access.
Maldona is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail on $55,000 bond.
