ELKTON, Md. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A Maryland man is behind bars after police say he brutally kicked a puppy to death because the dog urinated on the couch.
Ibe Nyshere Lyles, 42, is facing charges of aggravated animal cruelty, animal cruelty, restraining a dog to have limited movement and restraining a dog to limit water or shelter.
According to court documents, Lyles tied the grey and white 5-month-old pit bull puppy, named Deuces, to a fence and beat it with a rope. Lyles than reportedly choked the puppy, before kicking it several times.
Witnesses said he went back into the house, only to come outside and kick the dog again until it was motionless.
Lyles reportedly told investigators that the dog had urinated on the couch.
He's being held at the Cecil County Detention Center.
