Man charged with luring child
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A man has been arrested in Orange County, accused of trying to lure a child.
Authorities said Eder Celestino Batista, 43, was doing construction work out in the Dr. Philips area when motioned for a child who was exercising outside to come over to his truck. An arrest affidavit identifies Batista as having Brazilian citizenship. The report states he asked the child, a 10-year old, for a kiss and "motioned with his two fingers on his cheeks while making a 'puckering' motion with his lips."
The child did not go over to Batista, but instead, notified authorities. Investigators spoke to the child and a maintenance worker from the gated community who was said to have witnessed the exchange between Batista and the child.
Batista was arrested on a charge of luring and enticing a minor. His bond was set at $500.
