Man Baker-Acted, accused of stabbing woman to death

An Orange County man is under arrest, accused of stabbing a woman to death Monday night.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says a woman called 911 to say her brother had made a serious threat.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said in a statement, when deputies arrived at the house on Henrich Drive, they found 30-year-old Devan Carter acting strangely. The statement says Carter told deputies they would find out why they were called if they searched the house. Deputies say Carter struggled with them for a while, but was eventually secured for a Baker Act mental health evaluation.

Deputies say while searching the house to check on the person who called 911, they forced entry into a bedroom and found Debra McCloud, 57, already dead with apparent stab wounds.

Carter is charged with First Degree Murder.
