CHULUOTA, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A man accused of killing his own family inside their Seminole County home has pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors say that Grant Amato gunned down his parents and brother at their Chuluota home in January. The arrest reports claimed that Amato was angry because his parents kicked him out when he would not stop talking to an online girlfriend.
Amato's legal team said that there is not enough evidence to keep him in jail though. "At this point, we still do not have any forensic evidence that links him to this crime. So, we just have to proceed with what we have. It's purely circumstantial at this point."
A judge has also denied Amato his bond request, stating that a part of her decision had to do with Amato previously stealing money online from his family's bank accounts.
Amato is facing three counts of first-degree murder.
