Man accused of attacking same jogger twice arrested again

A 32-year-old man is back behind bars after authorities said he attacked the same woman for a second time while she was jogging in DeBary.

A DeBary man was arrested after deputies said he grabbed a woman while she was jogging.

The reported incident marked the second alleged attack against the same victim in less than a year.

The backstory:

According to an arrest affidavit, deputies responded May 15 to the area of South Charles R. Beall Boulevard and Asturiano Road after the victim reported a man approached her and grabbed her breast while she was jogging.

Deputies detained 32-year-old Cameron Lyons nearby after spotting a man matching the victim’s description. Investigators said Lyons presented deputies with a Florida driver’s license that had his middle name obscured and replaced with the handwritten name "Donald."

The victim told deputies she had previously been attacked by Lyons in May 2025, a case that resulted in a felony battery charge. During a show-up identification, the victim identified Lyons as the suspect, telling deputies, "That’s one hundred percent him."

Investigators said Lyons admitted he approached the victim and attempted to hug her after asking her to go to a water park with him. Deputies said that account conflicted with his earlier explanation that he was heading to get pizza.

During a search following his arrest, deputies said they found a glass pipe that tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine residue, along with notebooks containing women’s names paired with crude remarks, obscene drawings and descriptions of disturbing acts.

Lyons was charged with battery, stalking and drug-related offenses. Investigators cited what they described as a repeated pattern of harassment and battery against the victim dating back about a year.

What you can do:

Investigators are asking anyone who may have had a similar encounter with Lyons to contact the sheriff’s office.
