Last of Lake County hurricane debris to be picked up

The Central Landfill Facility announced that Lake County is expected to complete its final hurricane storm debris collection on county-maintained roads by the end of January.

In total, the county has reportedly collected about 376,000 cubic yards of debris during the first pass.

Residents wishing to log their address with the hauler for final pickup, or who have questions about storm debris collection, should call 321-354-1809 by January 19th. The debris hotline is available seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The facility also urges that vegetative storm debris be separated from construction debris. All debris should be kept away from storm water drains, off roadways, and away from power lines.

Residents can also continue to dispose of their storm debris at the Lake county Landfill or at any of the five convenience centerse.
