Lake County Sheriff's Office denied budget increase
LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Lake County commissioners say there is not enough money in the budget to pay for new employees at the sheriff's office.
The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Sheriff Peyton Grinnell request $9.8 million to hire 28 new employees and boost salaries for current staff.
The sheriff is hoping that this would help the department to compete with the pay of surrounding countries.
