COCOA, Fla. (FOX 35 Orlando) - After a freak hailstorm, there was an outpouring of compassion from the community in Cocoa -- for the animals.
A roof was full of holes, but a local business stepped up so the Central Brevard County Humane Society didn't become Noahs Ark. On Wednesday, we brought you coverage of the aftermath of the storm in Brevard County. A roofing company saw the story and knew just what to do.
On the heels of the freak hailstorm, the Humane Society says there have been many acts of kindness, not just the roof repair, but folks also donating pop-up tents so the dogs can have shade again out of the yards.
On Friday, workers from G and G Roofing were putting the final touches on the roof at the Central Brevard Humane Society.
Jimmy Ollie, Project Manager at R&R roofing told the News Station, “I’m an animal lover I’m sure there’s a lot of them out there, these people are here every day doing as much as they can to help animals and find them homes, so I figured, you know, I’ll give them a call, it’s the least we can do.”
“The animals of Brevard County are very blessed to have people that take care of them,” said Executive Director Theresa Clifton.
