They're a traditional treat in many countries, served up on Good Friday and marking a sweet end to Lent.  And bakers at one unique North Georgia restaurant are busy right now, making sure they can fill orders coming in from around the world.

We're talking about hot cross buns, which are a delicious specialty at Marietta's Australian Bakery Cafe.  The Good Day feature team couldn't wait to spend a morning at the restaurant, trying out the fresh hot cross buns and learning more about this popular Good Friday pastry.  Owners there say the spiced bun -- with a distinctive cross shape on top -- is a time-honored tradition in Australia, and that native Aussies living here in North Georgia start putting in their orders early.

So...interested to try some hot cross buns?  The Australian Bakery Cafe is located at 48 South Park Square -- that's on the Marietta square -- and opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays.  And if you want to learn more about these popular seasonal treats, click the video player above to check out our morning taste-testing!
