Two children were found safe after they were abducted by their biological father on Friday, deputies said.

The search started around 2:06 p.m. when deputies responded to a home in Palm Coast on a report of a child abduction.

Deputies were told that the father of two children who does not have custody or legal authority over the children had entered the residence, pushed a family member, and forcefully took the children from the home.

The father drove away in a gray Toyota Sienna minivan with Indiana tag 558RIG.

The car was found near Jacksonville after deputies conducted a traffic stop around 3:42 p.m.

The father, Derek Jordan, was arrested and taken into custody.
