The Ledger reports that the 14-year-old boy was taken into custody Monday at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale police say the freshman student was overheard talking about the gun, and another student alerted an adult. A school resource officer and additional police officers confronted the boy and searched his bag. They reported finding a Glock handgun and target rounds. The teen was taken to a juvenile facility.

In an unrelated case, three other teens at the same school were arrested Monday and charged with leaving a threatening note for a teacher. Police say surveillance video shows the group leaving the note late Sunday night. School staff members were able to identify them Monday.
