Dump truck slams into I-95 bridge, troopers say

A dump truck hauling an excavator struck the concrete bridge of an overpass on Interstate 95 on Friday morning, closing a portion of the southbound lanes for hours and sending chunks of concrete to the street below, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A dump truck hauling an excavator struck the concrete bridge of an overpass on Interstate 95 on Friday morning, closing a portion of the southbound lanes for hours and sending chunks of concrete to the street below, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

FHP troopers said the driver of that dump truck then drove away from the scene.

The crash happened sometime around noon on I-95 and the Citrus Blvd. overpass bridge at mile marker 206, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. This is roughly one mile north of the I-95 and State Route 528 Beachline interchange.
