What we know:

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office said Jerron Singletary broke through a bedroom window on Millstone Avenue while his ex-girlfriend, her sister and a friend were inside. The women fought back, and during the struggle Singletary pulled a gun, threatened them, and fired a single round into the ceiling. Deputies said he also stole a cell phone before climbing back out of the window and fleeing in a vehicle.

Responding deputies spotted Singletary’s SUV, which sped away. Because he had the stolen phone with him, investigators were able to track his movements from Deltona to Lake Helen and ultimately to Cassadaga Road. A K-9 named Zord located his abandoned vehicle and tracked through the woods to a property where Singletary was found hiding under an RV.

Deputies also recovered the gun, partially buried beneath the RV. Singletary was taken into custody without incident by Volusia deputies and Lake Helen police.
