Driver killed, passenger injured in rollover crash on SR-429 in Winter Garden

One person was killed, and another person was injured Monday in a rollover crash on State Road 429 in Winter Garden, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

What we know:

The crash happened just after 6 a.m. on the southbound side of SR-429 near Winter Garden Vineland Road. 

The driver of a 2012 Dodge Ram Chassis Cab was traveling south on SR-429 when he lost control of the vehicle, according to FHP. The driver was ejected from the truck, which overturned multiple times, the FHP crash report said. 

The driver, identified as a 35-year-old man from Orlando, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP. 

The passenger, a 37-year-old man from Orlando, was seriously injured and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, FHP said.

The crash led to an hours-long closure of all southbound lanes of SR-429.

What we don't know:

No other details have been released.

The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
