Hawaii man killed in SR-528 crash in Orange County, FHP says

A man was killed, and a second person hurt, after a deadly crash early Monday morning on State Road 528 in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

What we know:

The crash happened around 4:37 a.m. on the westbound side of SR-528 near Universal Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A Honda Civic traveling westbound left the road and hit a light pole and multiple trees before overturning, FHP said. The driver was identified as a 23-year-old man from Mililani, Hawaii, which is part of Oahu.

The passenger, a 20-year-old man from Willow Street, Pennsylvania, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
