Daytona Beach Police have arrested a substitute teacher they said pushed four students’ heads against a wall and called them 'evil,’ after they acted up in class.

Mohga Kodsy, the substitute teacher, was charged with felony child abuse. Alicia Heard's daughter Akeviyah is one of the four students police say Kodsy pushed.

“She grabbed her and threw her like that into the wall,” Heard said, describing the incident.

Heard said she's outraged. “I think it's ridiculous. We send our kids to school to learn and be protected, as we would protect them at home.”

“Grown-ups aren't supposed to put their hands on children,” Akeviyah added.

Daytona Beach police agree. “No one should put their hands on anyone, that's the first thing - especially a child,” said Lyda Longa, police spokeswoman.

The report says Kodsy was angry with the students because they were acting up. Volusia school officials say Kodsy has no record of any problems, and they tell all subs to contact administrators if they have problems with kids. Heard said there's many other ways Kodsy could have handled the problem.

“There's many things she could have done to reprimand these kids besides put her hands on them,” Heard said.

Schools officials said they’ve barred Kodsy from teaching at any Volusia County schools.
