Chain-reaction crash shuts down I-95 southbound in Brevard County, FHP says

Three people were injured Thursday in a chain-reaction crash that shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Brevard County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened in the area of mile marker 207 near Port. St. John Parkway in Cocoa.

According to FHP, the driver of a car hauler failed to stop for traffic ahead and hit the back of another vehicle.

The collision caused a chain-reaction crash involving four more vehicles, FHP said.

Three people were taken to Holmes Regional Hospital. Two were listed in serious condition, while one was listed with minor injuries.

All southbound lanes are closed while crews work to clear the crash.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
