Brevard commissioners are set to take up an issue related to immigration, making sure the county does not become a 'sanctuary city.'

The issue came about following the City of Orlando's decision to implement a 'Trust Act' policy, which prohibits officers from asking people about their immigration status.

Brevard County Commissioner John Tobia are spreading the effort to create a law to declare Brevard a 'non-sanctuary county.'

Last month, Tobia commented on the issue saying that the federal law should be followed.

Commissioners expected to discuss and possibly vote on the issue this Tuesday.
