Two drive-by shootings were reported in two different Cocoa cul-de-sacs, where bullets just missed children.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating both shootings that happened in the early morning hours of Thursday.  A detective was seen working one of the scenes on Friday, following up on leads, but there are still no arrests.

“They sped off afterwards, with no regard to who was in the street," said the mother, who did not want to be named in this report.  "So even letting the kids play at another house, no. And no to going in the front yard.”

One of the shootings was on Stowe Lane; the other on Sun Dial Court. The bullets were flying as parents were getting kids ready to go off to school. At both scenes, the bullet holes were plain to see, and residents are shaken.

“There’s no reason to think it’s not going to happen again,” the mother said.
