City vehicle fatally strikes woman in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A woman is dead after a hit-and-run involving a city truck in Daytona Beach. 

The Daytona Beach Police Department says that they responded to the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Main Street at approximately 3:05 a.m. after reports of a pedestrian fatality.

They say that through investigation, they learned that a Daytona Beach public works truck struck a female pedestrian. The driver of the truck did not remain at the scene, but police have been in contact with the driver as the case continues to be investigated.
