Central Florida braces for cold temps

People on International Drive in Orlando, Florida were seen bundled up Tuesday evening, as temperatures dipped into the 40s.

Locals and tourists seemed to enjoy the weather while taking a stroll on I-Drive.  “It’s been hot all year so it’s nice to have some wind,” said Hazim Jubara.

Others stayed indoors. Kiosk worker Leon Partap said it was a slower day on the strip. “I would give myself half an hour out here and possibly take it inside,” he said. “Hopefully they’ll be back tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, residents are preparing for the colder weather by stocking up on firewood. The Home Depot at Millenia is almost sold out of portable fire pits. Manager Angel Rodriguez said they’ve been selling quite a bit of precut wood as well.

“We’ve been filling up, knowing the temperature is going to drop in the next couple of days,” he said. “We’re happy that people are enjoying this time of year to spend time with their families.”
