Car slams into parked fire truck

Two people were hurt when a car slammed into a fire truck overnight, according to the Orlando Fire Department.

The crash happened overnight on I-4, near Orange Blossom Trail, on Sunday.

Officials say the fire engine was parked, helping a broken down car when it was hit.

Four firefighters were inside when it happened.

They quickly turned from being involved in a crash to helping the two people injured.

They say they had to pry the driver out of the car that crashed into them.

This was the second time on Sunday that someone crashed into a parked fire truck.

Sunday morning, there was also a crash involving Ocoee firefighters.

Back in late December, there was another car that crashed into an Orlando fire truck.

Firefighters say when an Orlando fire crew is working on a busy road, they will have to bring an extra large vehicle to help block traffic.
