Baby delivered at Florida Hospital is the first in Orlando of 2018

The Florida Hospital says that the first baby of the year born in Central Florida was 7-pound, 9-ounce Ava McKenzie Mann. She was born 12:02 a.m.

Ava is also Jasmine Fair's first baby. So, while much of Orlando celebrated the new year with fireworks, she celebrated in the delivery room.

Fair commented on Ava's arrival saying that “My grandmother predicted it weeks ago, but I thought she was going to come in after her due date. She wanted to make a grand entrance."

Little Ava reportedly arrived days earlier than her expected January 8th due date in what was a nearly 15-hour labor.

The mother also said that “She’s the best baby Orlando will have. I look forward to raising her and watching her grow."
