Autopsy: Gunshot wound to head killed Panhandle teen

DESTIN, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a teen whose body washed ashore in Florida's Panhandle in November died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office tells the Northwest Florida Daily News that after an autopsy, it's not clear whether the gunshot wound that killed 18-year-old Jonha Campbell was self-inflicted.

Campbell's body washed ashore Nov. 30 near Eglin Air Force Base. He had been missing since leaving his Destin home around mid-afternoon on Nov. 20, when he did not show up for work and stopped answering phone calls.

Campbell's car was found Nov. 26 near a beach, and authorities say the teen's cash, debit card and driver's license were found inside. A witness also reported seeing a person matching Campbell's description in the area alone.
