Apperson found guilty of disorderly conduct in alleged urination incident

SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The man who police said shot at the former neighborhood watch leader George Zimmerman during an encounter earlier this year, has been found guilty of disorderly conduct in another case in which he is accused of urinating on his neighbor's front door.  A Seminole County judge sentenced Matthew Apperson to 60 days in jail. He will be given credit for time served.

Apperson is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle after police said he fired at Zimmerman as he was driving in the Orlando suburb of Lake Mary back in May.  Zimmerman said a car was following him on Lake Mary Blvd., and the driver of the car began to yell. Zimmerman said he then saw a gun pointed at him and heard a "bang." 

Zimmerman was acquitted two years ago in the death of Trayvon Martin. That case sparked protests and a national debate about race relations.
