ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Kids are heading back to school as early as Friday and an app is promising to save you time in the pick-up line.
A Florida man created the app, called PikMyKid, as a way to make dismissal safe for parents and kids. The creator says the idea came about after he went to pick up his daughter at school and the wrong child was placed in his car.
The app began slow, with just around 100 schools, but now it is in 27 states and 5 countries.
One Florida principal says that the Parkland shooting put things into perspective, as she was deciding whether or not to use the app.
The app continues to develop, looking for new ways to give parents a piece of mind.
