Animals at the zoo get into the Halloween spirit with some pumpkins

Some animals at a Chicago zoo are getting into the Halloween spirit.

Employees at the Brookfield Zoo are doling out some sweet treats for some furry friends, including sloth bears, fruit bats, a carpet python, and even some pygmy hippos.

Animal care staff have carved some pumpkins and filled them with additional food items.

Over the next two weekends, some of the inhabitants will be receiving some pumpkins as well.

This is all part of the zoo's "Boo! at the Zoo" Halloween celebrations.

Workers at the zoo say the pumpkins are not only festive, but they also physically and mentally help the animals.
