Three killed in Brevard County crash on I-95, FHP says

Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the crash.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene of a deadly multi-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning on northbound Interstate 95, just south of Wickham Road.

According to officials, the crash took place at approximately 3:50 a.m. and has resulted in three confirmed fatalities.

The roadblock is now cleared after all northbound lanes of I-95 in the area were shut down for hours.

Florida Highway Patrol reports suggest that a 2020 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound in the northbound inside lane near mile marker 190. The Corolla struck head-on with a 2014 Chevrolet Impala traveling northbound in the same lane.

The impact sparked a chain-reaction collision involving six additional vehicles.

Troopers confirmed the driver of the Toyota Corolla, along with the driver and passenger of the Chevrolet Impala, were pronounced dead at the scene. Five additional victims were transported to local hospitals with injuries.

Authorities said investigators are still working to confirm the identities of those involved.

Traffic is being diverted onto the Pineda Causeway, and drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.

The crash remains under investigation. Stay tuned for more updates.
