2nd teen dies in head-on crash in Volusia County
DELTONA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says a second teen has died following a crash.
The crash happened at Saxon Boulevard and Urbana Avenue in Deltona at around 10:41 p.m. on Thursday.
Deputies say Zachary Hollenback, 17, died Friday afternoon at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.
They say he was the driver of a 1992 Honda Prelude that crashed into an oncoming car at a high rate of speed.
Officials say Hollenback lost control and crossed into the westbound lanes, hitting the other car.
Investigators say his passenger, Chester Tuck, 17, died at the crash scene. The driver and passenger of the other car were not seriously hurt.
Deputies say there were no signs of impairment in the crash and all of the people involved were wearing their seatbelts.
