2 injured after crash involving U-Haul, pump truck on I-4, officials

A crash involving a U-Haul and a pump truck is under investigation after occurring at approximately 12:47 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 near mile marker 71 in Orlando, Orange County.

What we know:

According to officials, a 2023 U-Haul became disabled in the eastbound lanes of I-4, west of State Road 528. A 2023 pump truck traveling behind the U-Haul failed to avoid the disabled vehicle.

Reports suggest that the front right portion of the pump truck struck the right rear of the U-Haul, causing the pump truck to overturn onto its left side.

Troopers say the 26-year-old male driver of the pump truck, who is from Lakeland, and the 75-year-old driver of the U-Haul, who is from Miami, were transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to officials, the roadblock has been cleared. The crash remains under investigation.
