14-year-old shot, suspect in custody in DeLand
DELAND, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A 19-year-old in DeLand is facing serious charges after his parents turned him in to police.
DeLand police are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was shot Sunday night.
Investigators say it happened at a home on West Hubbard Avenue a little after 6 p.m.
They say the teenage victim was taken to the hospital, but has been released from the hospital and is expected to be okay.
Police say the suspected shooter, 19-year-old Victor Franklin Jr., is in custody and was charged with Aggravated Battery.
They say they are still trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
Investigators have not released the name of the suspect, or the victim.
