VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - A 29-year-old man was killed on Interstate 95 after his vehicle crashed into the back of a semi-truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Interstate 95 was shut down late Monday night through Tuesday morning, FHP.
The freeway reopened around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
What we know:
The crash happened around 11:27 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 241, FHP said in a crash report. According to FHP, the driver of a 2025 Hyundai Sonata was driving behind a semi and failed to stop, slamming into the back of the semi.

The 29-year-old driver of the Hyundai Sonata was killed. He has not been identified. The 50-year-old behind the wheel of the semi-truck was not seriously hurt, FHP said.

The northbound lanes of I-95 were closed for several hours overnight Monday into Tuesday, and reopened later Tuesday morning.
