Volusia Sheriff on Daytona Beach takeover: I'm billing alleged event organizers

Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood said his agency is going after social media "influencers" who are allegedly promoting beach "takeovers" in Florida, prompting hundreds of people to flock to the beaches during Spring Break. It follows several incidents last weekend in Daytona Beach, where more than 100 people were arrested on various charges, such as speeding, driving recklessly on an e-bike, underage drinking, or marijuana usage. Daytona Beach Police are investigating several reported shootings. No shootings happened at the beach, Sheriff Chitwood said, but crushed water bottles, prompting crowds at the beach to panic and run.
