Scam of the Week: Social media job scams

Holly Salmons, President/CEO, Better Business Bureau Serving Central Florida, sat down with Good Day Orlando to explain how to spot social media job scams and how to protect against them. The scam uses a decoy, shifting quickly to digital tasks like liking videos or clicking buttons on a fake dashboard, and when users try to withdraw or refuse to pay more "upgrade/tax fees," the scammers freeze the account and vanish with your money. "At the end of the day, you should never have to pay to work," Salmons said.
