Judge blocks restrictions on candy, soda purchases with SNAP

A federal judge has blocked a Trump administration-backed effort that allowed states to restrict the purchase of candy, soda and other sugary products through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, restoring those items as eligible purchases for millions of recipients.
