New developments in disturbed Cocoa Beach sea turtle nests

Over Memorial Day weekend 2026, Cocoa Beach authorities noticed several sea turtle nests disturbed. Four nests stakes were pulled out, which mark nests. Pulling out the stakes is illegal, authorities say. One week later, eight new nests and the first green sea turtle of the season was reported.
