Well-below average Atlantic 2026 hurricane season outlook

On July 8, Colorado State University updated its Atlantic hurricane outlook for 2026, in which named storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes have decreased. The university now predicts nine named storms, which is below the annual average of 14.
