Wind towers help to study storms

Satellites and aircraft are effective at gathering data on tropical systems but there is a unique tool at the University of Florida that serves as defense against future hurricanes by improving predictions on a storm's path. Towers that collect data are deployed by scientists right where a storm is making landfall. It's part of the Florida Coastal Monitoring Program.
