Survivors and police officers testified as prosecutors presented body camera footage in the trial of Jaylen Edgar, who is accused of killing two people and wounding seven others during a 2024 Halloween shooting in downtown Orlando. Tyrek Hill and Timothy Schmidt were killed. Hill’s mother, Teresa Clinton, said she wants accountability and closure.

Chris Messina expressed gratitude to his team and the voters of Orange County after he was chosen to head to a runoff vote for Orange County mayor in November against Tiffany Moore Russell.  "This is a very big responsibility and the voters of Orange County chose me to proceed to the next level."  He said he's excited to see Orange County reach its potential of becoming one of the greatest counties in America. Messina, a businessman himself, is looking to make Orange County a place where "children, families and businesses thrive."

A 41-year-old man was arrested after authorities said he stole a car from a woman stopped at a red light and reached speeds of up to 137 mph during a pursuit through Volusia County.

After the Orange County race resulted in a runoff, with no candidates receiving over 50% of votes, Tiffany Moore Russell-D sat down with Good Day Orlando Amy Kaufeldt saying the runoff is an "opportunity to speak to more voters and increase our reach."  Russell -- currently serving as Orange County Clerk of Courts -- wants to create a community the younger generation would want to call home. She's invested in affordability for residents and creating a stable workforce for future generations.  "We have to move our private and public sector jobs to make sure people can afford to thrive in this county, not just survive," Russell said. 

Authorities are investigating the deadly shooting of a man who was found shot outside a Winter Garden home Wednesday evening. Police said the shooting took place after a card game.  Evidence is being collected at the scene. 

The city of Sanford's newly Mayor-elect Christina Hollerbach sat down with Good Day Orlando's Stephanie Rivas to discuss what makes Sanford special. Hollerbach, whose family owns the popular Hollerbach’s German Restaurant in downtown Sanford, described the community aspect of the city, one she hold dear. She discussed the city's events that create the sense of community and "amplifying" ways to continue to connect.
