Jack Royer co-anchors FOX 35 News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. alongside LuAnne Sorrell. He also streams live news coverage on FOX Local.

Dog person or cat person? Dog person. Jack grew up with a black lab named Jessie. They spent many days together playing fetch and swimming in Lay Lake, near his hometown of Birmingham. 

He started earlier than most: Jack got his first broadcasting gig calling high school football on WHPH 97.7 FM at age 14. He then joined WVUA 23 in Tuscaloosa, Florida, where he was named co-anchor of the 10 p.m. while still a full time student. During his senior year of college, he worked full time as a reporter at WIAT CBS 42 in Birmingham while still juggling a full course load. He didn’t make the dean’s list that year, but he earned his degree.

It’s the family business: Jack grew up running around the newsroom watching his dad, Mike, report and anchor the news for decades. His dad spent over 25 years as one of the main anchors at a TV station in Birmingham, Alabama.

He’s no stranger to Florida: Before making Orlando home in 2026, Jack worked in both Miami (WSVN) and Tampa (WFLA).

Outside the newsroom, Jack enjoys spending time with his wife and son, exploring Central Florida, staying active, and cheering on the Crimson Tide.
