Paraglider taken to hospital after crashing into powerlines

MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A paraglider crashed into powerlines in Melbourne Beach, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say it happened in the area of the Spessard Holland golf course on Oak Street on Saturday.

Officials say the person was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert.

Florida Power and Light responded to the area, after a power outage impacted residents.
