Man accused of hitting woman with car at dance competition

A man is accused of hitting a woman with his car at a dance competition.

The incident happened Saturday evening at Lawton Chiles Middle School.

According to Oviedo police, a man and a woman were in the parking lot arguing when the altercation became physical.

The man allegedly got into a car, and rammed the woman, pinning her against another car.

This happened as hundreds of people were inside the school at a dance competition.

A dance coach witnessed the violent incident in the parking lot.

“It was horrible. It was sad and there were like, children out there next to her that almost got hit,” said Raymond Wilson.

The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital and later released. She is expected to be okay.

Police have not yet released the suspect’s identity, but tell Fox 35 that he is facing multiple charges.

Police pointed out the dance event was not affiliated with the school. A private dance company rented out the space for the event.
