Florida dad killed, teen daughter hurt in fiery hit-and-run crash: 'It's not fair'
Florida father killed, teen injured in fiery crash
A father was killed, and his teenage daughter is recovering in the hospital after a fiery crash in Sumter County, Florida.
WILDWOOD, Fla. - A father was killed, and his teenage daughter is recovering in the hospital after a fiery crash in Sumter County.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said a hit-and-run driver is responsible for the crash.
What we know:
Joel Law, 39, of Oxford, Florida, was tragically killed, and his 16-year-old daughter, Bryleigh Law, was seriously injured.
The crash happened on Friday, Jan. 17 at the intersection of County Road 475 and State Road 44, according to FHP.

What they're saying:
"Her birthday was on January 12th, and they were going to go and go to the Western store, get some new jeans and some of her favorite little things. Her dad was taking her to do that," Whitney Law, Bryleigh's mother, said.
Her daughter, who just turned 16, is an avid horseback rider, and lover of all things country.
"Whatever she wanted, her daddy made sure she got," Law said.

Now, she is recovering from fractures and burns and is desperate to get back out on the track, her mother told FOX 35.
When Bryleigh recovers, she will be navigating a new life without her father by her side.
"My kids have to live their life without their dad now," Law said. "He was absolutely a rock in their life and was so supportive of everything that they wanted to do anything."
Bryleigh has two brothers. While her mother has been by her daughter's bedside in the hospital every day since the crash, Whitney has been fighting a battle of her own.
"I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in March. In August, I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction on the same day," she said.
Aside from her injured daughter, the loss of their children's father, and her own cancer battle, Whitney wants justice and isn't backing down.
"It's not fair that this person that caused this accident is just out there just continuing their life," she said.
What you can do:
FHP is searching for a dark-colored SUV. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to give their agency a call.
