PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The investigation continues after a gunman opened fire at Brown University Saturday, killing two students and wounding nine others.
The backstory:
The attack Saturday afternoon set off hours of chaos across the Ivy League campus and surrounding Providence neighborhoods as hundreds of officers searched for the shooter and urged students and staff to shelter in place. The lockdown, which stretched into the night, was lifted early Sunday, but authorities had not yet released information about a potential motive.
The person of interest was a 24-year-old man from Wisconsin, according to two people familiar with the matter. The people were not authorized to publicly discuss details of the investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
The person of interest was later released.

Ella Cook
According to FOX News, one of the students killed in the Dec. 13 shooting at Brown University has been identified as Ella Cook.
The news of her death was shared by her home church, Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, Alabama, during a Sunday service, where a priest spoke about the tragedy and Cook’s impact on those around her.
The priest said Cook "encouraged and lifted up those around her" and described her as a "bright light" both in her local community and at Brown University.
Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov
Another victim was Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov.
The U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan posted this statement online:
I am deeply saddened by reports of the tragic death of Brown University student Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov on December 13. We extend our sincere condolences to Mr. Umurzokov’s family, friends, and fellow students and mourn the loss of his bright future.

According to a GoFundMe account, Umurzokov is being remembered by his family as a kind, generous, and exceptionally bright young man with aspirations of becoming a neurosurgeon.
