Brevard Co. elementary school principal arrested on federal child porn charges

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Brevard County Sheriff's Office says a Satellite Beach elementary school principal was arrested Friday, following a child porn investigation.

Ricky Delano Sheppard, 59, of Melbourne, was taken into custody Friday.

Investigators were executing a federal search warrant at Sheppard's Melbourne home.

Sheppard is the principal of Spessard Holland Elementary School in Satellite Beach.

The Brevard County School Board is cooperating with the investigation.

Sheppard was placed on paid administrative leave.

The United States Attorney's Office is actively reviewing information related to the investigation and will be releasing official charges and more details as they becomes available.
