4-year-old Florida girl dies after being hit by SUV in driveway, FHP says

A four-year-old died Wednesday night after she was hit by an SUV in a driveway in Orange County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The girl was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

What we know:

An SUV was parked in a driveway near Robinson Avenue and 13th Street in Apopka on April 1 when the driver, a 37-year-old woman, pulled forward, FHP said in a crash report.

The driver didn't notice that the child was standing next to the SUV's rear passenger door, according to FHP.

As the SUV moved forward, the girl fell and was hit by the vehicle, FHP said.

What we don't know:

Troopers said the driver was not injured and remained at the scene.

It's not known if any arrests were made in connection to the crash at this time.
