TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Three people are believed to have died after a car they were riding in plunged into Lake Talquin just west of Tallahassee. One person was rescued.
The Tallahassee Democrat http://on.tdo.com/1ThPmjn reports a car was seen traveling on Coe Landing Road at a high rate of speed before it plunged into the lake early Sunday.
The report quoted Leon County Sheriff Mike Wood as saying the driver was apparently unfamiliar with the area off Highway 20 in western Leon County.
Witnesses observed the car going into the lake and went to help, but were only able to pull one person out of the water. The newspaper says three occupants managed to get out of the car but are believed to have drowned.
