An 8-year-old boy in Edgewater saved his father’s life this week after using Narcan to reverse a suspected heroin overdose, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the boy’s father, 44-year-old Daniel Johnson, had shown his son earlier in the day how to administer the medication “in case something happened.”

Jacori Redding, 15, is accused of shooting and killing his classmate at an Orange County public park. Orange County Judge Cherish Adams granted a pre-trial detention for Redding, meaning he’ll remain in jail while he's awaiting trial. Bond was denied.
Man, woman charged with assault for 'racist rant'
On July 29, around 2 p.m. a salesman knocked on Wiley and Pyle's door in an Orange County neighborhood to sell solar panels. The couple reportedly yelled racial slurs at the salesman, who filmed the incident and posted the video to TikTok. On Oct. 24, Steven Edwin Wiley, 51, and Cheryl Ann Pyle, 55, were charged with the assault of the salesman, with a prosecutor saying they intentionally and unlawfully threatened by word or act to do violence to him.
