Jacksonville Beach active shooter: Shelter in place lifted after shooting, police say

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. - Police in Jacksonville Beach are searching for a suspect following reports of a shooter Sunday evening.

Officials confirmed it happened in the downtown area and are urging locals to take shelter, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department. 

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department lifted the shelter in place just before 11:00 p.m.

It is unknown how many victims are injured.
